Principal's Note

Parents,

Thank you parents for participating in the FCPS Family Engagement Survey for Sleepy Hollow.  I am delighted to share some results from the report:

· How respected do you feel at this school? 95% feels very respected or respected

·  How respected does your child feel at this school?94% feels very respected or respected

·  This school welcomes families of different backgrounds and cultures.100%

agrees

·  Information provided to me is easy to understand. 100% agrees

·  I feel welcome at my child’s school. 98% agrees

·  This school is safe. 98% agrees

·  This school is inviting and feels like a place where I belong. 97% agrees

We are pleased to see that our community has such positive feedback. Feedback is important to us as we continue to build on our success.  Based on the survey and our lowest percentage of 83% agreement, we noticed that parents want more strategies and ideas to help their children at home. Our school Leadership Team will dialogue and discuss different ways to reach ALL parents for the 2019-2020 school year.

We welcome your continuing feedback here at Sleepy Hollow.  Please feel free to share your ideas and concerns with the administration.  With your input, we can work together to ensure that students continue to flourish and maintain Sleepy Hollow as a great community school.

Thank you,

Eric T. Johnson

Principal

June is National Safety Month

  • This is a great time to reinforce the need for safety inside and outside the house.
  • It's also a good time to check your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
  • Review your emergency escape plan you have for your home.

It is important to teach your child to be prepared for emergencies.  For more information on how to observe National Safety Month, click here.
