Important Thursday, June 6 Events: Senior Breakfast and Graduation Rehearsal

Don't Forget

Make sure you have your picture senior ID as well as cash or a check to cover any outstanding unpaid obligations you may still have. You are encouraged to visit the Finance Office before June 6 if you have any outstanding unpaid obligations. This will speed up events on June 6.

Graduation Rehearsal

Starting at 9:00 am, seniors will participate in graduation rehearsal in Gym 1. Attendance of the graduation rehearsal is mandatory as it is meant to ensure that all events run smoothly on graduation day. It should last no longer than two and a half hours. Caps and gowns will be distributed at graduation rehearsal to those students who have paid their class dues.

Senior Breakfast

To encourage a prompt 9:00 AM start of the graduation rehearsal, seniors are invited to an Einstein Bagels boxed breakfast from 7:45 to 8:45 am. Please go to Dr. J’s room (86) and show your senior ID. You may also open ION on your phone and show your ION picture (and grade). A driver’s license will not be accepted as a TJ Senior ID.

You will then receive a goodie bag (courtesy of SMART, the Science, Mathematics And Research for Transformation, which is part of the National Defense Education Program) including an Einstein Bagels breakfast box (bagel, cream cheese, fruit cup, banana, yogurt, and granola), juice, in addition to a SMART brochure and a Class of 2019 coupon for a free 6-inch sub (courtesy of Subway).

You will have four choices of bagels: chocolate chip, cinnamon raisin, everything, and plain. Once you check in, just proceed directly to the table corresponding to your bagel choice.

Jefferson Cup Pick-Up

Students whose parents ordered personalized Jefferson cups through the PTSA All Night Graduation Party will be able to pick up their order at a designated table in room 86.  It will not be necessary to bring a receipt since we will have a list of those who paid. An email will be sent to the parents who have ordered a cup earlier in the week to remind them of the pick-up.

Breakfast Eating Areas

Seniors are free to proceed to any of the commons or courtyard spaces around school to enjoy their breakfast with friends. But please be sure to take care of your trash when you’re finished and to report to Gym 1 by 9:00 AM for a prompt start of the graduation rehearsal.

Unpaid Obligations

In order to receive their diplomas, students must pay in full all financial obligations with the school. Students are strongly encouraged to check in with the Finance Office (located next to the 8th Period Office) ASAP to make sure that they do not have any outstanding fees, such as parking tickets, missing library books, or unpaid senior class dues (please be aware that students who chose not to attend prom are still responsible for paying $100 for class dues). If you wait until the day of graduation rehearsal to address unpaid obligations, it is highly likely there will be a wait in Gym 1 at the Finance Office tables.
