Student Services News

SENIORS……Class of 2019 Convocation Ceremony June 5th 9:00-11:00 am Springbank Auditorium. Please plan to arrive by 8:30 am to prepare for line up and procession. You are required to wear your graduation gown only NO cap for ceremony. Convocation is our Senior Honors and Department Awards ceremony where seniors are recognized for their academic accomplishments and scholarship(s) received. Seniors scheduled to be recognized include scholarship recipients, department award recipients and honor graduates. Honor graduates will receive an “Honor Medal” to wear graduation day June 6. PARENTS AND FAMLIES ARE INVITED TO ATTEND!

PTSA Update

PTSA Meeting - June 3, Monday 6:30 pm in the library. Please join the PTSA as we thank our wonderful volunteers (Treats served!). We will also host Ms. Millard who will give us the last update for the year; she will share important dates for the summer, too (where to pick up laptops, etc.). And we will welcome our new PTSA Board into service. We hope to see you all there!

Baccalaureate June 2, 2:00 pm. Reception 3:00 pm.

The West Potomac Baccalaureate is an interdenominational worship service celebrating West Potomac High School’s graduating senior class. All graduates, their families and friends of all faiths are welcome. The worship service will include music and speakers from our 2019 graduating class as well as a reflection by Sherylin Miller, class advisor. A reception will follow the service. Aldersgate Church is located at 1301 Collingwood Rd, Alexandria 22308.

Dinner Night Out! June 5, 4:00 to 9:00 pm. Join us on June 5 from 4:00 – 9:00 pm at Hybla Valley and Quander Road. Please present the attached flyer.

Class of 2019 Graduation Countdown! June 6.

SAT/ACT Test Prep-Upcoming Mocks, Classes and Events

Summer test prep classes and mocks are open for enrollment. Register here. Summer mocks and classes start July 27 and target prep for the August/September official tests. 

If your student will be entering grade 11 and has completed Algebra 2, consider getting test prep done before the 2019-20 school year gets into full swing! Spring of junior year is crazy enough. Prep and test early if you have the math needed (Algebra 2).

Choir Update

Car Wash

The West Potomac Choir will be having a fundraiser car wash at Aldersgate Methodist Church on June 1, 2019 from 9:00-1:30 pm. Come get your car washed and support the Choirs! Dinner Night Fundraiser-Moe’s June 5, 5:00 – 9:00 pm

The choir will be having a Moes restaurant night on June 5, 2019. Just come between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, show the attached flier and West Potomac Choir will receive 20% of the purchase price!
