Interim Assistant Principal
Mr. Jamie Meier is at Twain as interim Assistant Principal. Mr. Meier is a retired Fairfax County Public School administrator that has served FCPS for 33 years as a teacher and Assistant Principal at Fort Hunt Elementary and as Principal at Waynewood Elementary. He is filling in for Dr. Millman, and will be supporting the students, staff and community of Mark Twain Middle School until June 12, 2019.
8th Grade Dance: A Star is Born
Tickets go on sale next week from Tuesday-Friday for the 8th Grade Dance. Price for tickets is $7 and no tickets will be sold at the door. Price of ticket includes:

8th Grade Field Day

It’s time for 8th Grade field day (June 11, 2019)!!!!!!
FIELD DAY TEAM T-SHIRTS ON SALE AT LUNCH $5.00
The 8th Grade students will be celebrating the end of their exciting journey at Twain Middle School with a day full of food and fun! In order to make this a great day for our 8th grade students, we could use a little help from our 8th grade families.
Students are asked to bring in the following donations based on their counselor.
Baldwin (Green) and Pilotti (Red) - Water Bottles – small 8 oz bottles preferred
Flood (Blue) - Chips or Pretzels – individual bags preferred
Danosos (Orange) - Cookies & Sweets

We are looking forward to a great day with our 8th Graders!
Remind your 8th Grader to get the permission form signed
and return it to school. Forms are being collected in all 8th grade math classrooms. Forms must be turned in no later than Friday, June 7.
We would like to have donations brought to school no later than
Friday, June 7. Donations can be dropped off in the office or brought to Mrs. Pennebaker’s classroom (Room 154).
End of Year Awards Ceremonies
Mark Twain’s annual End of Year Awards ceremonies will be held Wednesday, June 12th in our gymnasium. The 7th grade ceremony will begin at 8:00 am and the 8th grade ceremony will begin at 9:15 am. All parents of students slated to receive an award will be given an invitation. It is important to note that this End of Year event is not a promotion ceremony and therefore only students who were nominated to receive an award will be recognized.
