Please find electronic copies of your child's Wednesday folder items on the PTA website. Thanks for going green and accessing these items online each week! If you would like to change your preferences for paper or electronic copies, please contact the office.
Reminder: All library books are due this Friday!
All student library books are due back to the library by Friday, May 31, 2019. If you have missing books, check your home, backpack, and classroom! Check with Mrs. Atkins if you need to know what you have checked out.
PYP Exhibition Invitation
Fifth grade students are proud to present the 2019 PYP Exhibition on Friday, June 7, 2019!
The Exhibition is an opportunity for fifth grade students to demonstrate the knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes and actions gained throughout their PYP journeys. Students carried out open-ended inquiries into a real-life issues or problems. They collected primary and secondary research. As part of the Exhibition process, students took action to promote change in our community. Transportation is available for Belvedere families. Please see the BES website for details. We hope you will join us for this special event!
3rd Grade Garden Sale
Please join us for the 3rd Grade Garden Sale! All items are student-made and student-grown!
Items for sale include beeswax lip balm (orange, lemon, vanilla and vanilla-orange), t-shirt tote bags, nature-inspired bracelets and necklaces, dried mint, tomato transplants, and herbs. Students also hope to have plarn products, strawberries, and solar oven s’mores. The sale is open to the public and cash only (but good prices!). We hope to you see you there!
A Litter Bit Better Art Contest
Help clean up Belvedere or your neighborhood by turning litter, recyclables, and trash into art! Entries should be left on Ms. Evers's desk on Monday, June 10, 2019. Details are in today's Wednesday Folder!
Order next year's school supplies through the PTA!
The Belvedere PTA is selling school supply kits again this year. Details can be found on the order form in today's Wednesday Folder. Paper order forms must be received by Wednesday, June 12, 2019, but online orders can be placed until Friday, June 21, 2019. To order online, please visit www.shopttkits.com, and enter account number 93733 in the red box.
You can now report student absences online!
Belvedere families now have the option of reporting absences online via our new attendance form. The form can be found by scrolling down to the Announcements section of the BES website. Please note that absences can still be reported by calling our attendance line (703-916-6868) or by sending an email to BelvedereES.Attendance@fcps.edu.
Volunteers needed!
Supporting Students During Ramadan
With parent permission, we are offering alternate quiet spaces for students to go during lunch times if they are fasting. For the most part, teachers have volunteered their time to cover this, but additional parent volunteers would be awesome! Volunteers are requested between 11:15 a.m. and 1:05 p.m. from May 6-June 7. You do not need to commit to a whole session; we appreciate any help we can get. Please contact Mr. Hemmens in the Belvedere office if you are available to help!
