This Week in Review May 30

The Week in Review

Good morning Frost Middle School Families!

I hope everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend! It was certainly a welcome break as we gear for the last two weeks of school! I am looking forward to seeing all of our 8th grade students and parents at the gala Friday night! It’s going to be a blast! Thanks to the Frost PTA for hosting and coordinating this annual tradition for our students!

Today is the last day for SOL testing this year! Our students have done a fantastic job, as always, on focusing on the task at hand and demonstrating what they know. Go Falcons!!!

As we begin to wind up the school year, please be on the lookout for yearbook sales announcements, makeup tests, locker cleanout dates, and the like.

I have informed our faculty and staff to keep the instruction going so our students are engaged through the last day of school!

We are ONE Frost!!!

Important Attendance Information for Tuesday, June 4 – Woodson HS Graduation

Many of you have Frost students who will be attending Woodson High School’s graduation on Tuesday, June 4th.  It will be a very busy day with early check-outs for graduation. You can help! Please give your student a note to drop off at the main office on Tuesday morning. #ONE Frost in Action

This segment is aimed at recognizing students for demonstrating recent improvement or achievement in academics, behavior or citizenship. I want to showcase what ONE Frost means to us!  At the end of each recognition, you will see the name of the nominating teacher or staff member. On a monthly basis, departments and/or faculty members will nominate students. I will meet with all of the students who are recognized to congratulate them on their kindness, hard work, and willingness to accept others into their circle.

Anna Kim - Anna exemplifies the Other People Matter Mindset by consistently supporting others. Throughout the year, she has regularly helped other students in math. She connects with others by explaining things in ways that make sense to them. With her easy-going manner, other students accept help willingly. No matter what she is doing, Anna is never too busy to help. - Mr. Young

Kemper Brown -Kemper exemplifies the Other People Matter Mindset by consistently supporting others. In every math class, I see Kemper helping those around him. Regardless of the question, Kemper discusses it clearly and patiently. His enthusiasm for math is contagious. - Mr. Young

Nick Siew -Nick supports his classmates academically and socially. He checks in with other students to compare notes and thought processes as he is completing academic tasks. He reaches out to students in other classes, as well. He is willing and able to patiently walk through his problem solving strategies without being asked. Additionally, he is respectful and positive interacting with peers and teachers. - Ms. Thomas

Brielle Steeves -Brielle Steeves reaches out to other students to encourage them academically. She is social and outgoing, and makes her classmates feel welcome and supported in the classroom. Brielle is the kind of student her classmates can rely on to stay productive and on-task with a smile. - Ms. Thomas

Marianne Crowley -When Marianne works with partners in class, she does an excellent job supporting her classmate. She is patient and kind and takes her time to explain the work if her partner needs help. - Ms. Larkin

Lizneidy Gonzalez Bamaca -Lizneidy is a positive and supportive classmate in our class. She is always making sure those around her understand what we are working on, and she never hesitates to help others and give positive feedback on their work. Lizneidy makes a positive impact in our class and here at Frost. - Ms. Russell

Kevin Vargas Gonzalez -Kevin is a positive role model in our class. He always supports his fellow classmates and supports a positive climate in our room. Kevin is a great mentor to others here at Frost. - Ms. Russell

Lynn Tong -Lynn exemplifies the “Other People Matter Mindset” by consistently cheering others’ success. A recent addition to the Frost community, she has made her mark by always being positive, thinking about others, and putting other people’s well-being ahead of her own. While Lynn demonstrates many wonderful character traits, we recognize her selflessness in being able to see the good in her peers and encouraging them.  - Ms. Mahung
