Student Services Updates

HS Credit Course Expunge Process:  High school credit courses taken in grades 7 and 8 become part of the student’s high school transcript and are included in the calculation of the high school Grade Point Average (GPA) and weighted as such. Virginia state and FCPS regulations permit parents/guardians of a middle school student who has completed a high school credit course to have that course expunged from the student’s record.

The request to remove a course from the transcript must be made in writing to the middle or high school that the student will attend the following year and prior to the end of the first nine weeks of the school year.

See Request to Expunge High School Courses Taken in Middle School, Form. If you have questions or concerns regarding this, please contact your child’s middle school counselor no later than June 13.

Student Intention Forms: Moving this summer?  If your family plans include relocation, please notify us by completing the Intention Form and send it to Ms. Andrea Tawil  ajtawil@fcps.edu at your earliest convenience

Yearbooks

A limited number of surplus yearbooks will be sold on a first come, first served basis.  Students may reserve a copy of the yearbook by bringing $35.00 exact change or a check payable to RCMS to the Cafeteria during their lunch period.  Reservations will be taken until all surplus yearbooks are sold.

Galapagos Island - Summer 2020

Want to give your child the educational experience of a lifetime?  We are so incredibly excited to announce that Kristden Oliver, Majestics Science 7, will be leading a group of students to Quito, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands through EF Educational Tours.  As the trip will take place in July 2020, this unique opportunity is open to our rising 7th and 8th grade students.  They will be touring Quito and the equatorial line, visiting 4 different Galapagos islands, and experiencing nature in its true form.  Below is the link to the mandatory parent meeting where you will get all the details and have your questions answered.  We want to help as many students as possible experience this once in a lifetime trip.  Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Oliver, kmoliver@fcps.edu, with your general questions.  We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
