Return Spring Pictures

If you still have your students' spring pictures at home and do not want to purchase them, please return the pictures to your student’s PE teacher as soon as possible.  


Seeking Awards Ceremony Speaker

Are you interested in auditioning for the end of year awards ceremony speaker? Have you signed up online yet? What are you waiting for? The sign-up deadline is this Monday, May 27, and auditions are Wednesday, May 29. One 7th grader and one 8th grader will be chosen to speak. On Wednesday, June 12, the awards assemblies for the 2018-2019 school year will be taking place.  During these assemblies, end of the year awards will be handed out and one student from each grade level will be selected to address their class with final thoughts for the year.  If you would like to be that speaker, please read below for more information!

All students interested in applying to be the end of the year speaker must write their own speech.  The speech should include:

Your thoughts about what makes students’ time at Twain so special

What knowledge, attitudes, and information should students take with them as they move on next year

Any inspirational/parting words for your class as they graduate this grade level

For 7th graders: How should students prepare themselves to be leaders next year?

For 8th graders: How should students prepare themselves to be high school students next year?

Speeches should not exceed 5 minutes.

To be selected:

Students must need to sign up on the Google Registration Form no later than Monday, May 27Students must sign up by May 27 so Ms. Lebowitz and Ms. Pilotti can create a schedule for the auditions.

Auditions will occur on May 29 during D lunch and 4th period. 

On May 28 you will receive a pass with your audition time.

If you do not sign up on the Google Form, you will not be allowed to present your speech.


Hayfield Rising 9th Activity Fair

Thursday, May 30th

2:15 – 2:45 pm: HAWK Period 8

Hayfield Secondary School Field House

Agenda:

1:40: Table set up for your sport, club or activity

2:05: Rising 9th graders will view a video presentation with our Activities Office, current Hawks and Alumni

2:15 – 2:45: Rising 9th graders will be dismissed to the Field House. Students must bring all of their belongings

2:45: Dismiss to the buses and clear tables

Suggested Items for table:

  • Uniforms
  • Sign-up/ Contact Sheet
  • Posters, Pictures
  • Camp information
  • Spirit Packs
  • Try-out information/expectations
  • Student Representatives (please email Jeff Herbert with their names, after you have spoken with them and confirmed they are available, so he can arrange passes)
  • Sporting Equipment
