Recent Student Successes

This is the next installment for the school year of what has become a weekly segment aimed at recognizing students for demonstrating recent improvement or achievement in academics, behavior or citizenship. At the end of each recognition, you will see the name of the nominating teacher or staff member. On a rotating basis, departments will nominate students.  I meet with recognized students each week to congratulate them in person.

  • Yeimy Cameros Asencio is a very new arrival to Chantilly and from day one she has been a terrific student. Yeimy is so excited to learn math and she's doing a great job. This young woman is delightful, so kind, so polite, just a wonderful addition to our classroom and to Chantilly. Ms. Tatiana Kahn
  • Bharat Danturthy has demonstrated tireless perseverance with regard to following program and workplace policies, building personal and professional relationships, and preparing for his next steps. He has shown growth and a willingness to adapt as needed, and has shown himself to be a true asset to our program and his workplace. I'm proud of you. Ms. Lauren Soljanyk
  • Ian Drummond's desire to learn and his work ethic have been strong throughout the year and lately he has been very impressive. At a time when many students struggle to keep up with the grind, Ian is persevering and his work ethic and demeanor is refreshing for this time of the year. Mr. Ross Bosse
  • Veronica (Nicki) Fitzgerald has come such a long way since she first started in STEP two years ago. Her hard work and determination has paid off as she has obtained a full-time job as a busser at Dave and Busters. Although she will be graduating soon, we will never forget her positivity and sparkling personality. She has been a model student and employee! We will miss you, Nicki! Please come back and visit us next year! Ms. Meghan Chavez
  • Haneen Khater is a passionate student of history, but her true impact shows outside the classroom. She lives her beliefs, modeling courage and confidence as she challenges stereotypes. She is an inspiration to all who are faced with adversity about how to carry on with dignity and self-respect. Ms. Angie Rollet
  • Kayla Kim works very hard and makes a great effort in Anatomy. All of her work has been completed on time and her assessment scores have increased. I am pleased to see her working so hard to remain engaged and be successful. Ms. Christine Gamache
  • Dima Tambil has been an exceptional student in World History 2 all year. Her interactive class notebook exceeds expectations on every notebook check, and she is always willing to help other students who are missing work. Whenever we do group classwork, Dima leads by example. She is an amazing student and classmate. Mr. John Kayajanian
  • Since starting World War I, Samuel (Sam) Westover has showed great enthusiasm for history. He has shared resources with myself and Mr. Kayajanian, and has been an active participant in class. I have really enjoyed sharing books and movie recommendations with him. Ms. Mary Catherine Keating
