FAIRFAX HS ORCHESTRA SENIORS

Dear Family Fairfax,

What a “silly” week! I write “silly” because, if you haven’t heard, our senior pit was covered in silly string after lunch.  Though I was surprised that only one senior returned to help clean it up, I was thankful for our custodians, security, teachers and administrative team who picked up brooms and got to work.  For our parents of juniors, please consider reminding your students: First, pranks aren’t a good idea; and second, there is something to be said about good clean fun, students willing to laugh, and students willing to labor so that the hardworking adults aren’t the ones left with the mess.  Isn’t that how things usually pan out with adults and teenagers, though? 😊

We had our senior meeting on Wednesday.  It was fun hearing the group chant ’19.  As a precautionary measure, I reminded students that we still have school up until graduation, and they need to remember to make good choices.  We do not want for serious discipline, those that are in the SR&R as resulting in a 30-day suspension from after-school or extracurricular activities, to be a reason that the student cannot participate in a sports banquet, prom, or graduation.    Please join me in reminding your student that “it isn’t over yet.”  I am looking forward to seeing our students all dressed up for prom tomorrow night!

I shared a video with our seniors at the graduation meeting, but it is one that I think might resonate with everyone in our community.  There is one “word” in it that I might caution showing it to students who aren’t as mature as seniors are:  Look Up

At PTSA on Monday night, I was informed that the donation link I had shared previously had expired.  So, for those who would like to give to our PTSA, you can follow the link here:  Go To PTSA Donation

I wish you a restful weekend!
