Play It Safe Event

This Saturday May 18th there will be a Play It Safe Event in downtown Herndon near the caboose. The event will have the Street Smart Camaro VR game, a bike rodeo, a bike swap, and other safety demonstrations. Students can bring their outgrown bikes to exchange for a bigger bike. Bikes left over after the swap will be given away. There will also be some helmets given away. The Green Lizard Bike shop will be providing bike checkups and will help size bikes. Please check out the attached flyer for more information.

SOL Schedule

Students at Herndon Middle School will be taking their SOL (Standards of Learning) tests from Wednesday, May 15th through Wednesday May 22nd.

7th grade:

  • Reading- Thursday, May 16th
  • Math -Tuesday, May 21st

8th graders:

  • Reading-Wednesday, May 15th
  • Science- Friday, May 17th
  • Civics- Monday, May 20th and Wednesday, May 22nd
  • Math -Monday, May 20th and Wednesday, May 22nd

Students will receive their specific testing schedule the week before testing begins. Please encourage your student to get a good night's rest, eat breakfast and arrive to school on time during SOL testing.
