End of Year Medication Pickup
The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a high school student may transport over-the-counter medications to and from the school health room.

2019-20 School Year Calendar Changes;
Notable Dates…
New Virginia legislation requires that schools opening prior to Labor Day must be closed the Friday immediately preceding Labor Day. As a result, FCPS’ 2019-20 Standard School Year Calendar has changed and Friday, August 30, is now a holiday for students. In addition, the School Board voted to move the March school planning day to Tuesday, March 3, 2020, to accommodate the 2020 presidential primary.
Other notable dates include the first day of school, August 26; Thanksgiving break, November 27-29; Winter break, December 23, 2019-January 3, 2020; Spring Break, April 6-10, 2020; and the last day of school, June 12, 2020. See the 2019-20 school year calendar.
Yearbook Sale!!
It’s time for the annual Halley Elementary Yearbook sale!
Sale starts May 1st and ends May 31st
Yearbooks will be sold online only through myschoolbucks.com. The sale started on May 1, 2019! Please sign in or create a new account to order your yearbook. The cost of each yearbook is $20.00. The online sale will end on May 31, 2019. No yearbooks may be ordered online after that date.
Below are the instructions on how to use this online payment feature:

A special distribution day for our 6th grade students will be on Monday, June 10th.
All other grade levels will be distributed on Wednesday, June 11th.
PTO MEETING – MAY 21, 2019
Our next PTO meeting will be held on TUESDAY, May 21, 2019 at 6:45 p.m. in the Music Room. We ask that all members be present to VOTE on the 2019-2020 PTO budget and on the nominees to fill board vacancies for expiring terms for the 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer positions.
