Stress Less Dog Visit

Oak Hill students enjoyed meeting the therapy dog Butch during Stress Less, Laugh More week.

Thank you!

The Oak Hill Staff would like to thank our wonderful PTA and all of the parents at Oak Hill for showering us with appreciation and gratitude last week.  We enjoyed the kind notes from students and parents.  We all feel honored to work at Oak Hill with your children!

SOL Testing 2019

Students in grades 3-6 have been taking the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) Tests.  The schedule can be found here.  Please avoid scheduling appointments on your child's testing day. Most testing will begins at 9:00 am.  Make up testing will occur throughout the window based on staff availability to administer tests.

Expedited Retakes for eligible students will be administered June 3 through June 7.

SCA Elections

We are excited to announce a new format for Oak Hill Elementary’s student government! In an effort to provide equal representation to all classes, we will have a governing student council rather than having four elected officers. In the fall, each sixth grade classroom will elect a student council officer. This student council will provide the leadership for our SCA which will be made up of representatives from classes in grades 3-6. Elections for each classroom council member will be in the fall.

Career Switcher Information Session

The FCPS Office of Talent Acquisition & Management (TAM) will host a Career Switcher Information Session at the Willow Oaks Administrative Center on Tuesday, May 21, at 5:30 p.m. in room 1000A. This event will give military veterans, community members, and anyone interested an opportunity to learn how to become a licensed Virginia teacher.

The information session will begin with presentations from the four approved Virginia Department of Education career switcher programs: Educate Virginia, Old Dominion University, Regent University, and Shenandoah University. Troops to Teachers will also present their program offerings to military veteran attendees.

A panel of FCPS educators will share information with attendees in a question and answer format, followed by an opportunity to network with panel members, the FCPS licensure team, and the substitute office. Parking is available in the parking garage next to building 8270.

Registration is limited and available online
