Bailey's Clasico
Please come and join us for the seventh annual Bailey's Clasico on Friday, May 3rd from 6:00-8:00 pm on the turf field at Bailey's Elementary. Come see your favorite teachers play alongside parents in the Bailey's annual soccer tournament.

Congratulations to our 2019 Certificate of Study Honorees
The Kennedy Center is excited to share that 15 teachers from Bailey’s will be receiving the Certificate of Study at an awards ceremony, dinner, and special performance at the Kennedy Center on Friday, April 26. In order to receive the Kennedy Center Certificate of Study, teachers attended a minimum of 21 hours of professional learning opportunities in the arts and created a documentation PowerPoint that showed how they used the arts strategies in their classrooms.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-2020 year is open!

Visit the FCPS website for more information about the registration process and requirements.
Students must register at their local school. To find your local school, enter your address in the FCPS boundary locator.
Registration packets are available in the main office of Bailey’s Elementary School or on the FCPS website.
Rec-PAC at Bailey's Elementary
Bailey's Elementary will have Rec-PAC this summer from July 1st- August 8th.

1st Grade STEM - MyOn Book Set
Parents/Guardians of 1st grade students,
Your child is about to begin their third STEM lab rotation! Each 1st grader has been assigned a book set in MyOn! to build their knowledge around Designing Shelters. When your student logs in to MyOn!, they will see the “Designing Shelters” project on their home page. Happy reading!

Heads Up: 2019-20 School Year Calendar Changes; Notable Dates
New Virginia legislation requires that schools opening prior to Labor Day must be closed the Friday immediately preceding Labor Day. As a result, FCPS’ 2019-20 Standard School Year Calendar has changed and Friday, August 30, is now a holiday for students. In addition, the School Board voted to move the March school planning day to Tuesday, March 3, 2020, to accommodate the 2020 presidential primary.
Other notable dates include the first day of school, August 26; Thanksgiving break, November 27-29; Winter break, December 23, 2019-January 3, 2020; Spring Break, April 6-10, 2020; and the last day of school, June 12, 2020. See the 2019-20 school year calendar.
