CHANTILLY PYRAMID MENTAL HEALTH GOOGLE SITE

Mental health continues to be a “hot button” topic across the country.  School counselors are excited to share our mental health resource site for our Chantilly community.  As elementary, middle, and high school counselors continue to work with families in each school, we feel it is necessary to share similar information and resources with everyone in grades K through 12.  The Chantilly Pyramid’s comprehensive Google site link can be found here https://sites.google.com/view/chantillycounselorsresources/home.  Feel free to access the site on your own.  If you have specific questions or needs, contact your child’s school counselor directly.

Recognitions

Congratulations to Lindsay Jones and Daniel Zhao who were named winners of the 2019 National Merit Corporate-Sponsored Scholarship for CACI Scholarships

Congratulations to our Governor's Challenge in Economics team that placed 3rd in the state at the competition in Richmond.  Kyle McClelland, Zach Petty, Ryan Swindell and Max Tabarrok answered questions involving macroeconomics, microeconomics and international trade as well as econ current events. They did really well and we are very proud of them!

Recent Student Successes

This is the next installment for the school year of what has become a weekly segment aimed at recognizing students for demonstrating recent improvement or achievement in academics, behavior or citizenship. At the end of each recognition, you will see the name of the nominating teacher or staff member. On a rotating basis, departments will nominate students.  I meet with recognized students each week to congratulate them in person.

  • Sapha Abbas demonstrates politeness, timeliness and a good-natured attitude as a student library volunteer for the 2018-2019 school year. Sapha supports the library staff by completing routine daily tasks and does so without complaint. We are grateful for her assistance. Ms. Robyn Singletary, Ms. Kristen Zemba and Ms. Jodi Hackett
  • Students are able to learn programming at their own pace using code studio. In the project app, Zach Carter has created games such as flappy birds, music videos with dancing avatars, and he is currently creating a game that could possibly rival fortnight. Mr. Marques Cameron
  • Mya Diffin has been an exemplary student this year in Discrete Math. She works tirelessly to make sure she really understands the topics and has done very well in the course. She has shown outstanding perseverance when she faces difficulties and always does so with a smile on her face. Mr. Craig Primus
  • Allison Martin has worked extremely hard in her probability and statistics class all year. She is actively engaged in the lessons and participates responsibly. Allison's work displayed a deep understanding of the concepts and an interest in the material being taught. Allison is a joy to have in class! Ms. Sarah Gentile
  • Levente Nas is doing computer programming for the first time this year (in Intro to Computer Science and in the programming club) and is already elite by our standards. Not only does he make himself available to help his peers, he also offers helpful hints for his teacher, Mr. Neff, who is teaching Java for the first time. Mr. Adam Neff
  • Clark Saben came into Comp Sci A with little background in programming, but all year has shown examples of positivity, curiosity and a great work ethic. He has continued to demonstrate interest in the subject outside of the classroom and extending his own learning and he has shown tremendous progress in his coding ability. Mr. Bradley Smith
  • Michael Stout earned a 92% on his most recent Unit Test and a 90% on his most recent quiz. His affect and demeanor in class is great. Mr. Timothy Murphy
