Announcements from Herndon Middle School 04-24-19

AVID is Coming to Herndon MS

avid

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a program in many FCPS schools designed to change lives by helping schools shift to a more equitable, student-centered approach. Teachers are trained to help close the opportunity gap, and prepare all students for college, careers, and life.  Students experience proven strategies and take an elective to help their success and begin to develop a personal path to post secondary education. This spring rising 8th graders will have the opportunity to apply to HMS’s first Avid cohort for the 2019-20 school year.   Watch for applications in early May.

If you have questions, please reach out to Karyn Niles at keniles@fcps.edu
