Greetings Saxon Families,
Spring Break has finally arrived. As we prepare to embark on the break, I wish each of you time to rejuvenate and to reconnect with family and
friends. In order to provide students time to enjoy the week off, teachers have been asked not to make any assignments due (to include
assessments) until Wednesday, April 24. Also, please note, Langley offices will be closed during the upcoming week.
Now it’s time to celebrate with some Saxon swagger!
Congratulations to Langley's Model United Nations team that recently traveled to Thomas Jefferson High School to compete in TJ’s Model United
Nations competition. Facing tough competition from other teams, Langley Model UN won the OUTSTANDING LARGE TEAM DELEGATION award
(equivalent to SECOND PLACE). In addition, most of our students won individual awards.
Senior Tennis
Senior players were recognized during the Lady Saxona’ tennis match against South Lakes on Tuesday.

Regional Olympiad of Spoken Russian
Congratulations to the 16 students who earned gold medals at the annual Regional Olympiada of Spoken Russian at George Mason University.

Langley Orchestra
Last week, the Langley Orchestra traveled to Vienna, Austria and Budapest, Hungary.

French Students
Ms. Hardy’s French students experienced the country’s culture and indulged their creative side as they made crepes during class.

Activities Fair
Rising 9th graders came to Saxon Country for the annual Activities Fair.

Pep Rally
Congratulations to the Science department who took first place honors during Tug of War during today’s pep rally!

Alex and the Best Buddies club brought down the stadium with their rendition of “Proud Mary”.

Our FCPS central office friends Assistant Superintendent Maribeth Luftglass and Excutive
Director Kathleen Walts were thrilled to be in Saxon Country for our big event!

The Saxon Tsunami and t-shirt toss brought the crowd to its feet!

Coach Robinson and Coach Sronce, thanks for being such great sports!

The cast of Mama Mia ended the event on a true high note!

Math Contest
The Purple Comet Math Contest was the highlight of Ms. Douglas’s math
class on this day before the break!

Enjoy the break, Saxons. Don’t forget to tune in on Saturday, April 20 to It’s Academic
to see our team compete in the semi-finals!
Fondly,
Kimberly Greer
