Friendly reminder - tonight is Curriculum Night!

Dear Stenwood Families:

Please don’t forget to join us tonight for our annual Curriculum Night!  It’s your chance to join your children and spend time learning about our program of studies, and it’s also the opportunity to see our entire Stenwood staff.  We are excited to see you all, and we hope that you partake in this event to honor the commitment our staff has made in creating this fun evening.  Also, who could pass up a chance to shop at our book fair in the library!

The Go Green Committee at Stenwood invites you to bring in your “dried-up” markers and “less loved” crayons to help us kick off our new marker and crayon recycling initiative on Curriculum Night.  Look for the bins outside the cafeteria to use for these materials.  Also, please note, we will no longer be collecting batteries due to changes in the Fairfax County Recycling Program. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Principal Dammeyer
Assistant Principal Riley

Calling all Rising 6th graders:

Virginia Law requires that all students entering sixth grade receive a booster dose of the Tdap vaccine prior to the beginning of school. The Tdap vaccine protects against tetanus (lockjaw), diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough) and is usually given around the age of 11, although it can be given as early as seven years of age.

Please send in documentation of the Tdap to the front office staff as soon as possible.

Sixth grade students will not be allowed to begin school in August 2019 without submitting proper documentation
