Cardinal's Message

Dear Cunningham Park Families and Friends,

Did you hear the news?  CPES staff faced off against Vienna Elementary School in a rousing game of basketball this Wednesday, and the winner was... EVERYONE!  We loved getting together with our neighbors up the street for some good, clean fun, and thoroughly enjoyed the CPES hip-hop dance crew at halftime.  Thanks to all our cheerleaders who came out and joined in the fun!

March is National Social Work month, which is the perfect time to highlight services that support our students.  At Cunningham Park, our Social Worker, Katherine Doyle, stops at nothing to ensure our children and families have everything they need to succeed.  On any given day, Ms. Doyle can be found on the phone acquiring free glasses for a student in need, working on social skills with groups of children, consulting with parents for services to support at home, and so very much more.  Ms. Doyle’s genuine love for children is always evident, and as she often says, “I have the best job in the world!”

We actually think we have the best Social Worker in the world!

You can learn more about social work services offered in FCPS.  Feel free to reach out to Ms. Doyle for support, to ask questions, or to share appreciation for her hard work.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Katie Le, Principal and Jon Kemmerer, Assistant Principal

Upcoming P2 Focus: Fairness

Fairness means that you believe that all people have value. You approach situations with an unbiased mindset and treat everyone with respect. Fairness is complex. That’s because it is the product of moral judgment – the process by which people determine what is morally right and what is morally wrong. -Positivity Project
