Spring Break / April 15 - April 19
School Office Closed

Dear Stenwood Families:

We want to be sure that you marked your calendar for April 3rd for our annual Curriculum Night when the entire Stenwood staff will be here to greet you. Also, thinking ahead to other dates to ensure you have marked on your calendar…please make note of April 30th from 7:45-8:30 when we will host our annual Volunteer Breakfast. We hope that if you have served our school in any capacity this year (for example chaperoned a field trip, volunteered in the classroom, served on the PTA, cut out letters for a bulletin board for a teacher, served as a room parent, contributed to the grade level sponsored lunches, etc.), then you will plan on stopping by to join us for some coffee and a bagel or donut. We are so fortunate to have such amazing volunteers. In lieu of sending out separate invitations, we instead extend this invitation to our entire community, so as to be sure not to miss anyone who has contributed in a volunteer fashion to our school. Therefore, we do ask that you RSVP by calling the school office by close of business on April 23rd.  Because the event is happening prior to the start of school, please know that you are welcome to feed your children breakfast at home and bring them with you, as they will be in the story pit in the library enjoying a movie, while you enjoy visiting with our staff. Thank you.

Please join us in supporting our military families. PURPLE UP Day, April 10th, is a national day of recognition to show support for military youth and families by wearing purple. Why purple, you ask? Purple is the color of all the service colors blended together.

Sincerely,
Principal Dammeyer
Assistant Principal Riley

Virginia Law requires that all students entering sixth grade receive a booster dose of the Tdap vaccine prior to the beginning of school. The Tdap vaccine protects against tetanus (lockjaw), diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough) and is usually given around the age of 11, although it can be given as early as seven years of age.

Please send in documentation of the Tdap to the front office staff as soon as possible.

Sixth grade students will not be allowed to begin school in August 2019 without submitting proper documentation
