Over the past few months our lost and found has continued to grow.  Now that winter is almost over, please check your closets to see if you are missing any of your children’s coats.  There are other items such as water bottles, lunch boxes, umbrellas, etc.  Please remind your son or daughter to check here if they are missing any items.  We plan to donate any items not picked up by April 12.

Literacy News

This quarter students in grades 1-6 worked on Content Area Research in Reading and Writing.  The projects that students did with this were nothing short of amazing!  Choice and research skills were embedded into all units.  Some of the projects included a Virginia PBL in first grade where students are persuading travelers to visit Virginia.  In 3rd grade students did a PBL where they created google sites on any topic of their choosing from their science and social studies curriculum.   6th grade teachers gave students a choice on how to present information learned from science and social studies unit, anything  from writing a paper to teaching the class.  We all learned a lot during this unit!
