Kindergarten Registration & Orientation

We are now taking registrations for students who will be entering kindergarten in the 2019-2020 school year.

To register a student in FCPS, parents need to provide a copy of their deed or lease with their name on it as proof of residency, the original birth certificate, and the Virginia School Entrance Health Form completed and signed by a U.S. physician.  For students entering kindergarten, the physical must be dated within twelve months of starting school.

Please use these links to view the FCPS registration requirements and access the registration forms bundle. Registration packets are also available for pick up at the school office Monday-Friday between 8:30AM-4:30PM.

You and your rising kindergarten student are invited to join us on Thursday, April 25 from 4:45 PM – 5:45 PM for our Kindergarten Orientation. Your child will participate in classroom activities while you meet the principal, assistant principal, and other staff members who will discuss our kindergarten program and answer your questions.

Please contact Mira Tadros at mtadros@fcps.edu or (703) 715-3801 for orientation RSVP and to schedule a registration appointment.

Grade 5 Parents: Tdap Immunization Requirement

School Health Services Survey

Virginia Law requires that all students entering sixth grade receive a booster dose of the Tdap vaccine prior to the beginning of school. The Tdap vaccine protects against tetanus (lockjaw), diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough) and is usually given around the age of 11, although it can be given as early as seven years of age.

In order for your child to begin 6th grade you will need to submit one of the following documents before the first day of school.  It is recommended that all paperwork be submitted to the school office by July 31, 2019.

Acceptable documentation can be one of the following:

  1. A copy of your child’s immunization record showing the Tdap vaccine.
  2. A note on a healthcare provider’s letterhead stating the date the Tdap vaccine was given.
  3. A healthcare provider’s written statement of a permanent or temporary medical exemption.
  4. A notarized Religious Exemption Form .

The Tdap booster is available from your child’s healthcare provider or The Fairfax County Health Department (703-246-2411). Please note that students receiving immunizations at the Health Department must be accompanied by an adult, and should bring their immunization records with them.

You may submit the documentation by email mtadros@fcps.edu or to SIA/registrar Mira Tadros 703-715-3801.

School Health Services Survey

The Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD) employs school health aides and public health nurses who provide school health services to the students in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS).

To determine the quality of these services, a survey has been developed by the FCHD to be shared with all parents or guardians.
