Global Student Leaders: The Impact of Sports & Wellness in Switzerland & Eastern Europe

Global awareness is more essential than ever for our children, and the best way to become globally aware is by traveling abroad. Experiencing new cultures not only opens students’ eyes to the world, it also prepares them for the future. More and more colleges and universities are looking for international experience on students’ applications to set them apart. Travel isn’t just educational; it’s an investment that gives your child an advantage in a competitive world.

With that in mind, Hayfield Secondary School is excited to announce that it is participating in a voluntary opportunity with the Global Student Leaders through Fairfax County’s International Study Travel Program (ISTP)! This Global Student Leaders trip is scheduled for July 4-17, 2020 and is open to High School students in 2020 (current 8th through 11th graders).

Our 2020 Global Leadership Summit will explore The Impact of Sports & Wellness around the world, from what people eat and think to how we care for ourselves and stay active. Let’s come together to better understand the global focus on well-being and our evolving thoughts on how to achieve it. As students finish their themed tour through Budapest, Vienna, Prague and Munich, they’ll arrive in Davos and will be met by world-renowned speakers and subject experts leading discussions and workshops aimed to inspire and educate. Grouped in international teams, students will use the design thinking process to innovate & propose solutions to a real-world global challenge. The winning team’s project will be on display at the Nobel Museum in Stockholm, Sweden.

Last year FCPS had 5 students in winning teams - with 1 FCPS student in the grand prize-winning group!
