Principal's Message

Dear Wolftrap Families,

MADISON PYRAMID OUTSTANDING LEADER: I recently informed you that we nominated Mat Campet, School Based Technology Specialist, for the FCPS Outstanding School Leader award.  I am very proud to announce that Mr. Campet has been named the Madison Pyramid Schools Outstanding Leader for 2019! His nomination packet will now be forwarded to the next round.

KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION: We will hold this annual event on Friday, April 5, at 9:00 AM. A letter was distributed to all families informing them of the process to sign-up to attend Kindergarten Orientation. We are hopeful to have as many rising-kindergartners as possible attend and would appreciate you passing along that letter or directing new families to our website.

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT SURVEY: Fairfax County Public Schools will be conducting a survey to gather information about family engagement in our schools. Relationships are important to us, and your opinion is critical to help us support your engagement in your child’s education. Survey translations will be made available, and the survey can be taken on electronic devices, including smartphones. Survey administration is scheduled for March 24-April 12, 2019, and you will receive more information about how to take the survey in the near future.

Sincerely,

Teresa Khuluki

Principal

This includes delivering the highest quality of technical care and treating his patients with respect, courtesy, and compassion. A locally trusted doctor specializing in dental implants with expertise in all services offered, Dr. Bonacci is also a fellow Wolftrap ES alum who would like to share a special message with his fellow Wolfies: “All health care and education are local issues. It’s neighbors taking care of neighbors. It’s my pleasure to give back to Wolftrap Elementary where my two children Stephen and Kaitlin attended and my wife, Kristin, presided over the PTA. Run hard but study harder!”

NOVA Eye MD -- Dr. Nisha Patel is not only a proud Wolftrap parent with three kids at Wolftrap Elementary, but also a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery. NEW THIS YEAR, for 5th and 6th graders, we will have an Edison Egg Drop competition. The objective: Design a system to protect an egg from cracking or breaking from a high fall. We’ll drop them at the Expo! Stay tuned for additional details.

Your Child's Lost & Found Items are Calling

lost and found

The lost and found items have been organized for easy pick up in the cafeteria or coats hanging up in the PTA closet. See pictures.  Please have your child collect their lost items by Friday March 1st. Anything left after that point will be donated to charity.

PTA Funds = STEM Enrichment in Kindergarten

Stem

Every year each grade level at Wolftrap gets funds from the PTA to spend on items the teachers choose to benefit the entire grade level.  The kindergarten team used some of their funds to buy STEM materials for the three Kindergarten classes to share. As you can see from the picture, the kids enjoyed trying them out last week at indoor recess. These materials will also be used during Wolfie Time and Math stations. A great use of PTA funds.
