Furloughed Government Employees

As many of you may be aware of, FCPS recognizes the impact that the government shutdown may have on some of our FCPS families. Not only has FCPS made the commitment that children with parents who are currently out of work due the government shutdown will not go unfed during the school day, but they have also held job fairs to offer furloughed employees the opportunity to substitute teach in our schools if they meet our division-wide hiring criteria.

If your family is being impacted and you find you may need support; and feel comfortable making us aware, please feel free to connect with either a member of our school counseling team or administrative team so that we can work to connect you with resources that may be able to assist you during this period of time.
