Winter Break

Friday, December 21 ~ Full day of school

We wish our Kings Glen families a wonderful and restful Winter Break!  (Reminder: Kings Glen will be closed during break).


Lost and Found

Please Check Lost and Found Before Winter Break

Please have your child check the Lost and Found table in the cafeteria before Winter Break for missing coats, gloves, lunch boxes, etc. We have quite a collection of items on the table. Since the school will be closed during Winter Break, students and parents will not have access to the buildling to check for missing items.


Advanced Academics Referral Deadline: January 10, 2019

January 10, 2019 is the deadline for submitting an AAP Level IV referral. Level IV services are Full-Time Advanced Academic Services for students in grades 3-8; Kings Glen students who are eligible attend Keene Mill ES for elementary school and Lake Braddock for Middle School.

LBMS Curriculum Night

Rising 7th Grade Curriculum Night

Thursday, January 10, 2019, 6:30 p.m.

Lake Braddock Secondary School

You and your rising 7th grader are invited to Lake Braddock Middle School’s Curriculum Night on Thursday, January 10, 2019 starting at 6:30 PM. During the Curriculum Fair, families will be able to walk around and speak to teachers regarding their programs and also take a brief tour of the building with one of our student ambassadors.


LBSS Toy Drive INOVA

Kings Glen/Lake Braddock Toy Drive

Kings Glen is helping the Lake Braddock Chorus collect new, unwrapped toys for children and teens undergoing treatment at INOVA Children’s Hospital, in conjunction with the Chorus’ annual Children’s Concert (January 19th @ 12:00 & 4:00 PM). The Lake Braddock High School, Middle School, and Elementary Area Chorus come together to sing all the favorite Disney songs and bring favorite Disney characters to life! Please place donations in the collection box near the main office from January 7-24, 2019. Thank you for helping children in our community!


December KG Reading and Creative Challenge

Thank you to the 57 students who participated in the November KG Reading and Creative Challenge! Their names are posted on the library bulletin board. Just a reminder that the December challenge is a Non-fiction book talk, so if you would like to participate, bring your non-fiction book during library time. Even if students did not participate in the November challenge, they can still participate in this one. Happy Reading!


Health Room Volunteer Training

We are seeking Health Room Volunteers for the 2018-2019 school year. Volunteers may help provide care for sick and injured students and assist with administrative duties in our School Health Rooms. Lake Braddock Bruins

Join the Lake Braddock Varsity Dance Team for the 18th Annual Junior Dance Workshop!

(Girls and boys ages 4-12; preschool through 6th grade)

Watch your child perform with the Varsity Dance Team during half-time at the Boys Varsity Basketball Game (Free entry for LBABC members or $5 entrance fee for fans; game start time is around 7:30 p.m.). 

Details and Registration

Date/Time: Friday, Jan. 11, 5-9 p.m.

Where: Lake Braddock Secondary School

Registration: Fee is due at check-in (cash or check payable to LBABC)

Fee includes:  Workshop, performance, T-shirt*, and snack.

$40 if registered by midnight on Dec. 14 (workshop T-shirt guaranteed)

$45 for walk-ins the day of the workshop (no guarantee of T-shirt)
