CSMS FCCLA Celebrates Family & Consumer Sciences Day, 12/3
The week of December 2nd, CSMS FCCLA members will celebrate the fifth annual Family & Consumer Sciences Day—the national celebration that educates families about the importance of preparing healthy meals and “dining in” together. CSMS FCCLA members will be sharing public service announcements, recipe resources, and encouraging CSMS students to take the pledge to “Dine In” with their families the week of December 2nd. This year’s emphasis is on dining “device free” so that families can build healthy relationships. Preparing and eating a nutritious meal together – whether it be breakfast, lunch, or dinner – is something simple families can do to be physically, mentally, and financially healthier. Check out our short video:

Students and families can take the pledge to “Dine In” at https://www.aafcs.org/fcsday/commit-to-dining-in/fcs-day-sign-up. Participating families are encouraged to take to Twitter and post a healthy family selfie before enjoying their “Device Free” meal using the hashtags #FCSDay and #HealthyFamSelfie to @CSMS_FCCLA and @Sandburg_MS. Questions may be directed to Heather Jones or Sarah Ummen, CSMS FCCLA Advisers.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE THANKSGIVING CARE AND SHARE:
A note from Haleh Royanian, Sandburg Middle School Social Worker:
“Dear Sandburg PTA and community members:
We were able to provide Thanksgiving baskets to 14 families with support from PTA and generous donations from our Sandburg families. Your generous donations made this holiday a special one for our families that truly needed the assistance. I also would like to thank all of you who supported us because we would not have been able to assist our families without your assistance and donations. I hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday with their families.”
