Thanksgiving Message

Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

I write to you today to wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving break! For the first time, FCPS has given staff and students off tomorrow. Mr. Credle and I wish you safe travels, stress free driving, moist turkeys and plenty of warm memories with those you cherish the most.

If you didn’t know, I was raised on a dairy farm in Western Pennsylvania. Many years ago a tornado leveled an empty barn just feet from the house I grew up in. The Amish rebuilt the barn and for the last ten years, my parents have welcomed friends and extended family to have a Thanksgiving meal in the new barn. Under the warmth of twinkle lights and gas heaters we come together to stop and look around the tables built from the rubbles of the fallen barn to remember our roots and be thankful of what is right in front of us. I hope you have a warm place to be on Thursday where the company that surrounds you is all you need to have a full heart.

Sincerely,

Holly DeVore, Principal
