Volunteer Sign-Up for Thanksgiving Lunch
It's time for Terraset's Annual Thanksgiving Lunch. Families are invited to join their student for lunch on Thursday November 15. We will need volunteers to help with serving lunch, directing visitors in the hallways, and providing additional cafeteria support to our Green Team. There is a special lunch schedule in place for this event. The sign up includes a link to the lunch schedule. Sign up to help out at the Thanksgiving Lunch.
IMPORTANT DISMISSAL INFORMATION
Parents and guardians, please note that we will only accept changes in dismissal until 3:15pm. This is effective immediately. Also, please make every attempt to arrange early dismissals BEFORE 3:30.
It is vital that all parents adhere to these procedures as they are set in order to maintain a safe setting for all of our students. If you have any questions about Kiss and Ride, please do not hesitate to call us at 703-390-5600.

Thanksgiving Luncheon – November 15, 2018
Arriving at Cafeteria:
Students will walk down with their teacher into the main hallway lobby. Upon entering the lobby there will be two clear signs directing classes to one of two lines. For grade levels with odd #s of classes - we will be dividing classes in half and sending each half to their assigned line. Parents will join their student in line – so please look out for your students’ arrival and direction their class is moving to join them in line.
Seating assignments: due to the wonderful turnout we always see on our Thanksgiving Luncheon, families will be allowed to sit at any table in the cafeteria. Peanut-Free & Egg-Free tables will be in use and labeled.
Dismissal from cafeteria: During the last 5 minutes of each lunch classes will depart from their tables, throw out trash and line up, exiting out the right-most glass door, up the ramp and back to class.
Parents will say their goodbyes in the front lobby as we make our way back to classrooms.
Line One - Forming in the hallway beside Music2 & band (outside the café) and entering down the interior cafeteria ramp to form a line in the left-most serving line.

Family Code Night |

“Family Code Night” is a FREE, whole-school, whole-family event at which kids and their parents do their first hour of computer programming – together! At this special evening of learning and fun, you’ll play in parent-child teams to complete fun Code.org puzzles and challenges at your own pace, and learn core concepts in coding in this very first hour.
Afterwards, you’ll go home with a special “Code On at Home” guide to continue coding puzzles, learning and fun at home. No coding experience needed; laptops provided! This is a great experience to share with your kids! Featuring Hour of Code puzzles from Code.org®!
We are looking for volunteers to help this event run smoothly! Sign up to volunteer!
Orchestra Dress Rehearsal
MARK YOUR CALENDAR! Below are dates for our dress rehearsals and spring concerts. In preparation for our concert your child may have orchestra more than once that week. Please make sure your child has their instrument and music for each day. These events are mandatory!
5th and 6thgrade Orchestra
Friday - November 30th 2:55-3:55pm in orchestra classroom
Monday- December 3rd 2:55-3:55pm in orchestra classroom
School Assembly: Wednesday December 5th at 2:30pm. Students will go to the orchestra room at 2pm to prepare.
Evening Concert Date: Thursday December 6th 7pm at Hughes Middle School. *Orchestra students will report to the orchestra room at 6:30pm
**Concert Dress: Concert dress for performance is to wear their Music Tee Shirt, black dress pants or skirt (knee length or longer, NO denim), black socks and black dress shoes (NO sneakers).
Terraset's Annual Food Drive
We want to support our community! Please send in donations of non-perishable boxed or canned food to support Herndon/Reston FISH, a local charity that aids families in need. Last year the Terraset donations helped feed over 100 families here in the Herndon/Reston area.Thank you for helping us help our community! Our goal is to receive 1,000 items!
Donations can be brought in at any time, including before Parent Conferences and the Thanksgiving Luncheon!
Fairfax County Police Motor Squad Toy Drive
Please donate NEW unwrapped toys, games, books, and gifts to be distributed to children at Fairfax Hospital, Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center, and to the children in the community who might not otherwise have a cheerful holiday season.
Please bring your donated items to Terraset' s main office.
Toy Drive will end on December 10,2018

UPS has teamed up to provide books for Terraset Elementary School. Last year The UPS Store of South Lakes, Reston*, was able to donate 1,162 books to the school. With your help, we are hoping donate even more books this year! Receive up to 15% off on your transaction (dependent upon the products and services you choose) when you make a $5 or more tax deductible contribution** to the Toys For Tots Literacy Program at The UPS Store of South Lakes, Reston. This offer is valid only at the South Lakes location. Contributions made at other stores will not go to Terraset Elementary.
** Donation must be added to transaction. Donation cannot be deposited into the Toys For Tots Literacy Program donation box.

have received that goodness.
