Paw Print week of December 17-21, 2018

Principal's Message

Dear Panther Families,

What a wonderful concert on Wednesday from our 5th graders! They should feel proud for such amazing performances. It was wonderful to see so many of you at the concert supporting our students.

Although we dodged the snow this week, winter weather still has many months to possibly impact the school day. Please see the FCPS Weather Cancellation Procedures for details on how the decisions about delaying or closing schools are made and communicated to everyone.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Ms. Andujar and Ms. Walker

Positivity Project

This week our focus has been on the character strength of humility.

Individuals with the character strength of humility/modesty are those who honestly reflect on their abilities and acknowledge how and where they can improve. Humility opens them up to new ideas, advice, and (consequently) abilities that pride, arrogance, or pretentiousness often block. They might be described as: unassuming, unpretentious, modest, down-to-earth, pure and deferential.

To quote Ernest Hemingway, “There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”

If you are interested in learning more about the Positivity Project,  please visit their website or the Poplar Tree website Positivity Project

Water fountain

A huge thank you to the Poplar Tree PTA for funding the upgrade to the cafeteria water fountain. It is now a water fountain and a water bottle refill station all in one. We are very appreciative of this upgrade.
