Teacher Grants in Action!

Thanks to a grant from the Foundation for FCPS to Robinson Secondary School, a group of tech and engineering students toured Dulles Airport  recently to learn about apprenticeship opportunities and all the many ways to grow a career there. Students were able to see "behind the scenes" and get a sense of all the ways their classroom learning can be used in an exciting field. Learn more and watch the video here.

A grant from the Foundation to Herndon Middle School is bringing adult mentors to work with the students on service learning projects in their community. Students worked with mentors to decorate pumpkins that were then donated to an elementary school as a way to show their caring and compassion for the community. #SOARFCPS

Shoes for kids

#Shoes4Kids Raises Over $5,000!

For the third year in a row, the Tysons Partnership Community Responsibility Council held their #TysonsCares drive in September. One of their focus areas was to provide shoes to students in need at 8 elementary schools. The group was able to raise over $5,000, helped in part by a matching gift from HOAR Construction!

Schools that will benefit in FCPS are Bailey's Upper and Lower, Freedom Hill, Graham Road, Shrevewood, Timberlane, Westlawn and Woodburn.

A huge Thank You to this great partner to FCPS and the Foundation!
