CES is the Best! This statement is true thanks to our amazing students, staff, and all of the wonderful support and collaboration we have with our community. To show our gratitude we have created an appreciation wall to recognize all who support us. Next time you are at CES please stop by and check out all of the wonderful businesses that we are collaborating with.
Another organization that contributes to our success is the wonderful CES PTA! Thanks to their support all students are able to attend field trips at a lower cost and participate in many amazing educational programs/activities.
Since the PTA does such a brilliant job supporting CES, we are asking that parents/guardians please consider support them by joining the PTA. *PTA Meeting: Thank you to the first grade teachers, students, and parents who were able to join us last night at the PTA meeting. The students did a FABULOUS job performing! You can check out their performance on our Facebook page! Our next PTA meeting is Thursday, December 13th at 7 pm. Second grade will be providing our presentations and Texas Donuts will be donating refreshments!
Boosterthon Fun Run is Underway!

   Thanksgiving Luncheons
This year we will hold our Thanksgiving Luncheon over two days.
- On Monday, November 19th:
- Grades 6,1, 3, & 4 will have their luncheon in the cafe.
- Grades K, 2, & 5 will eat bagged lunches (from home or school cafe) in their classrooms.
- On Tuesday, November 20th:
- Grades K, 2, & 5 will have their luncheon in the cafe.
- Grades 6, 1, 3, & 4 will eat bagged lunches (from home or school cafe) in their classrooms.
- Please use the schedules below to determine when your child's class will have their luncheon. We would love to have all of our families join us to celebrate!
  
Centreville Honors Our Veterans
On
Monday, November 12th, the federal observance of Veterans Day,
Centreville Elementary School would like to honor veterans with a special event
at our school. We will have a luncheon prepared in your honor that you
will be able to enjoy with your student(s) at CES. Any relatives of our
CES students who are veterans are welcome to join us in our event.
We
also would like to invite you to read to students in classrooms around our
building. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn about how
you have served and to show their appreciation for your service. If interested, veterans may choose between
two time slots to be a guest reader in several classrooms around the
school. Choice 1 will be 10:30am-12pm reading in classrooms and Choice 2
will be 1:00pm – 2:30pm reading in classrooms. Lunch for all guest
readers and their children will be held in the library from 12:00pm-1:00pm.

you so much for your service. We hope many veterans will be able to

This past week our students focused on BRAVERY.
WHAT DOES BRAVERY MEAN?
You act with mental, moral, or physical strength even when you know things are difficult or scary.
Bravery refers to voluntary (not coerced) action in the face of a dangerous circumstance. This strength involves judgment; the brave person must have an understanding of the risks and consequences involved in acting. According to Socrates and Plato, forethought separates acts of valor from acts of rashness. This means that bravery isn’t simply fearlessness, but instead the overcoming of fear.
Bravery can take many forms. Physical bravery involves overcoming fear of bodily injury or death. Moral bravery occurs when an individual does what he/she believes is right in the face of social and/or financial consequences. Mental bravery occurs when people overcome their everyday fears and anxieties.
