STUDENT-PARENT SURVEY FOR FEDERAL IMPACT AID

Beginning on October 16th, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid.

Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an anticipated $3 million dollars in grant funds each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3.  All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by October 26. All results are CONFIDENTIAL.

Learn more by watching this short video featuring Superintendent Scott Brabrand and the U.S. Army Garrison Commander COL Michael Greenberg from Fort Belvoir.

Recent Student Successes

This is the next installment for the school year of what has become a weekly segment aimed at recognizing students for demonstrating recent improvement or achievement in academics, behavior or citizenship. At the end of each recognition, you will see the name of the nominating teacher or staff member. On a rotating basis, departments will nominate students.  I plan to meet with recognized students each week to congratulate them in person.

  • Kazma Kaneko is maximizing every opportunity for growth while at Chantilly High School. He is working diligently and successfully at the Department of Vehicle Services, taking on every challenge and absolutely winning! Kazma also attends EFEO 3 days a week and transitions beautifully without a hitch. We are so incredibly proud of this young man! Ms. Katy Smallwood
  • Mizky Kaneko has made great progress in his attention to detail. He is doing a terrific job of self-monitoring and determining what he needs in order to complete all tasks in class. This focus is evident in his classwork and is reflected in his grades. Ms. Elaine Birchfield
  • Anthony Phan is always a positive and polite addition to the classroom. He takes a leadership role in class and demonstrates positive participation. Ms. Erin Wallace
  • Justin Tolliver navigated through a difficult conversation and was able to advocate for himself. Ms. Porsche McWhorter
