Glasgow Community Gazette - October 14

Glasgow Community:

Fall is finally here! I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather and having a good time with friends and family this weekend. My two daughters and I drove 430+ miles back to Ohio on Friday night to meet up with my sister, brother and his kids.  We spent all day Saturday at Cedar Point riding roller coasters and enjoying “Halloweekend.”

This past week, we celebrated the diversity of our 1806 students from 53 different countries that speak 50 different languages at International & Cultural Food Night.  Students and families enjoyed samples of food from all over the world! Special thanks to the Glasgow PTA for sponsoring this amazing event.

The performing arts department was on display this past week. Orchestra and band students showed off their talent at joint concerts with Justice High School. I have said it in the past but the performing arts in the Justice Pyramid is one of the strongest in the county. The fall chorus concert will be held this Wednesday at Justice High School beginning at 7:00pm. The event is free and students and families are invited to attend.

Finally, in partnership with the Glasgow PTA, we will be hosting a Parent Grading Workshop this Tuesday, October 16. The event will begin at 7:00pm and will provide parents an overview of our assessment practices and grading policies at Glasgow Middle School. In addition, we will also review a sample grade card and answer any questions to ensure you have a clear understanding of the IBMYP criteria for all subject areas. As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
