10th Grade PSAT and Fairfax County Youth Survey Information

PSAT Information

On Wednesday, October 10th, the PSAT will be administered to all 9th, 10th and 11th graders at TJHSST. This is an early release day and buses will leave the campus at 1:15 p.m. Lunch will be provided from 12:30 to 1:00 PM in the cafeteria.

Students can find their PSAT room assignment by Homeroom on ION now. Students are asked to familiarize themselves with their room assignment beforehand because some homerooms have been relocated for the PSAT test administration. Students should try and eat a good breakfast as no food or drink is allowed during testing. Students will need to bring #2 pencils (mechanical pencils are NOT allowed), an eraser, a graphing calculator, and back-up batteries for calculators. Schools are not permitted to provide calculators or batteries. Students will not be attending classes after testing so students should leave as much as they can at home. Smartwatches, phones, fitness trackers, and other devices will not be allowed inside the testing rooms.

Note to parents: FCPS pays the test fee for 9th and 10th graders; however, 11th grade students must pay $20 for the PSAT/NMSQT. Students who have not yet paid should see Ms. Barnhart as soon as possible to arrange payment. Her office can be found in Student Services or she can be reached via email at, lcbarnhart@fcps.edu.

It has come to our attention that a PSAT email/phone scam is offering study guide materials for the PSAT for a price.  FREE Study Guide materials were handed out during the Back To School Night with leftover guides placed in the Hopper Commons for any student to use without cost.  A website for free practice is available as well
