Laps for Learning THANK YOU!!!

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who participated in our Laps for Learning Fun Run on Saturday. It was a wonderful event and it was amazing to see the Olde Creek community come together. We are extremely grateful to the Olde Creek PTA for supporting this event and for all of parents who volunteered their time to help make it a reality. We also appreciate all of the generous food and drink donations that helped our runners recharge at the end of the event. Our school is fortunate to reside in such a warm, caring, and friendly community and that was on full display on Saturday.

Olde Creek Bears Care Community Outreach Program

Olde Creek Elementary is pleased to kickoff the second year of our Olde Creek Bears Care Community Outreach Program!  The primary focus of Bears Care is to provide weekend food provisions to students in need in our school community.  These students typically receive free or reduced priced meals during school days, which for many are the only meals they may receive.
To make this program successful, WE NEED YOUR HELP!  We will be requesting food donations on a weekly basis through Sign-Up Genius.  Food donations can be dropped off at Olde Creek's Front Office during regular office hours.  Food bags will then be packed on Fridays for students to take home for weekend food support.  For this week, we are pre-collecting food items to stock up our food pantry while this year's list and number of families are being finalized.  If you are interested in donating food items this week, please click the link below to sign-up.   Thank you!

Safety Drills at Olde Creek

Today, we conducted our second lockdown drill of the school year and we will have a minimum of two more. Additionally, we have already conducted four fire drills this year. During the first month of the school year, fire drills will be conducted on a weekly basis and for the remainder of the year they will happen once a month. We will also conduct tornado drills and bus evacuation drills throughout the year. The purpose of a lockdown is to protect against intruders in the school building. Prior to today, teachers talked to our students about the purpose and practiced the procedures to prepare them for our drill. Our students and staff did a great job today! We are very proud of them.

OCES 2018-2019 Room Parents

The Olde Creek PTA is organizing room parents for this school year – please consider volunteering for your child(ren)s class! As Room Parent, your main responsibility is to plan and execute two class parties (Winter party in December and End-of-Year party in June).  Also, you may be asked to send a few emails to classroom parents to remind them of school events such as fundraisers, Teacher Appreciation Week or Art Walk. Thank you for considering!
