Olde Creek Bears Care Community Outreach Program

Olde Creek Elementary is pleased to kick off the second year of our Olde Creek Bears Care Community Outreach Program!  The primary focus of Bears Care is to provide weekend food provisions to students in need in our school community. These students typically receive free or reduced priced meals during school days, which for many are the only meals they may receive.

To make this program successful, WE NEED YOUR HELP!  We will be requesting food donations on a weekly basis through Sign-Up Genius.  Food donations can be dropped off at Olde Creek's Front Office during regular office hours.  Food bags will then be packed on Fridays for students to take home for weekend food support. For this week, we are pre-collecting food items to stock up our food pantry while this year's list and number of families are being finalized.  If you are interested in donating food items this week, please click the link below to sign-up. Thank you!

Veterans Day at Olde Creek

Calling all Active Duty, Reserve, and Veteran members of our Armed Forces. Olde Creek would like to invite our community’s military family members to speak with students and share their experiences on the morning of Monday, November 12th to recognize Veterans Day. We are very proud to have so many military family members in our school community and we want our students and staff to have an opportunity to make a connection with all of you.

On the morning of  November 12 from 8:30 - 9:30, we will host a brief reception for our military family members.  This will be followed by the opportunity to visit a classroom to share a little bit about themselves and their service to our country.

If you or a family member is interested in participating in this special event at our school,  please click on the link and fill out the survey below by October 5th. Please contact the Olde Creek main office with any questions.

Expertise Survey

At Olde Creek, one of our goals we have is for the educational opportunities that we provide for the students to be authentically connected to the world around us. We aspire to prepare our students to be able to positively impact the world they will enter in the future. One of the instructional delivery methods we use to help foster these real-world connections is an approach called Project-Based Learning (PBL). Our staff has been working diligently in the past year to develop their own capacity to provide these types of engaging learning opportunities. In many of our PBLs, we often try to connect with someone outside of our school who has expertise in the area our students are learning about.

This is where all of you can help us! We are looking for Olde Creek parents and family members who may be interested in speaking with some of our students about their area of expertise. We are looking for engineers, carpenters, authors, entrepreneurs, and much more. If you are interested in speaking with our students about your profession or passion, please complete the survey below. We will share the results with our staff and if our students are completing a project or assignment that aligns with your area of expertise, we will be in touch Thank you for being willing to share your gifts and skills with our school!
