The FCPS Adult ESOL Program will begin offering English language classes at Herndon Middle School starting on September 17th. The program, which has been a part of FCPS since the 1980s, provides language and content instruction to support adults in their roles as parents, workers, community members, and life-long learners. The FCPS Adult ESOL Program is self-supporting through grant funding and student fees.
The program will offer 10-week terms of both intensive (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-12:00 pm) and non-intensive (Mondays/Wednesdays, 7:00 pm-9:15pm) classes. The opening term for the program is comprised of three morning classes with a total of about 75 students (offered in the three trailers along the side of the bus parking area behind the middle school) as well as six evening classes of approximately 150 students will (offered in several of classrooms inside HMS). Testing and intake of new students will be held on Monday, September 10 at 9:00 am and again at 6:00 pm.
The Adult ESOL Program is looking forward to working with the Herndon Middle School and its staff to provide these continued learning opportunities to the Herndon community. Check the link for more information about the schedule and tuition fees for the FCPS Adult ESOL Program or contact the FCPS Adult ESOL Program at 703-658-2777.
