School starts Tuesday, August 28. There is still time to donate to "Collect for Kids."

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Foundation for FCPS or any of the many "Collect for Kids" partners this summer! We've been hard at work to collect and distribute school supplies and backpacks to the 54,000 low income students in our district.

School starts next week - your financial gift will help us to fill the gaps and "Collect for Kids."

Let's make sure all students have what they need to be successful in school! Find out more on the Collect for Kids website.

Dr. Stephen Jones to be Keynote Speaker at State of Education Luncheon!

Dr. Stephen Jones, new CEO of Inova, the region’s leading healthcare system, will headline the State of Education Luncheon in November. Inova not only serves more than 2 million people annually, but is an important community partner with FCPS through its relationship with the Governor’s Health Sciences Academies at both West Potomac Academy and Falls Church High School. Dr. Jones came to Inova after serving as President of the Cleveland Clinic Regional Hospitals and Family Health Centers.

The State of Education Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, November 27, from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at the Fairview Park Marriott. Over 350 guests are expected to be in attendance to hear from Dr. Jones, FCPS Superintendent Dr. Scott Brabrand, and congratulate the Business and Community Partners of the Year.

Information about sponsorships and ticket sales can be found on the Foundation's website. Proceeds from the luncheon support the Foundation's #SOAR Teacher Grant program. Single ticket prices rise after September 27, so get yours today!

#SOAR Teacher Grant Checks Distributed!

In June, the Foundation announced its first round of grant funding to support teachers in FCPS. We awarded $45,500 to 28 teachers in 26 schools, impacting potentially 6,700 students! Checks were distributed this week to the deserving schools so that teachers can implement their projects in the coming school year.

Check out a list of the award winners and their projects on our website

Your Contributions Help FCPS Work Toward Educational Excellence.

As we prepare for the start of another great school year, the Foundation for FCPS is here to match community resources to programs and schools within our district.  Here are some ways your donation can help!

  • Support Teacher Grants to expand work-based learning and career exploration opportunities (Workforce Development)
  • Provide backpacks or school supplies for students in need (Collect for Kids)
  • Erase student lunch debt (Kids in Need)
  • Enhance Employee Recognition programs, such as FCPS Cares or the FCPS Honors (Employee Recognition)
  • Provide gift cards and support to homeless students in FCPS (Kids in Need)

Or give to the school or program of your choice. We make it easy - YOU make the difference.
