Student Learning Plans

Dear 10th Grade Parent/Guardian and Students:

We hope you and your student have had an enjoyable sophomore year experience. Earlier this year, your child has worked with their homeroom teacher to discover their personal interests, create goals, and prepare for life after high school. This plan is required by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). VDOE requires that the student’s parent review this plan by July 11, 2018.  When reviewing the plan with your child, you can coach him or her to make decisions about college and careers that match his or her personal strengths, interests, and goals.

Please review your child’s Student Learning Plan (SLP) in Family Connection (Naviance) and, with your child, review their portfolio of work outlined below:

  • results of the strengths and career survey
  • goals
  • resume builder
  • draft course plans for high school

Once you have reviewed your child’s plan, complete this verification form. The completion of this form will serve as your signature.

Please complete this verification by Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

For more information about your child’s SLP, the FCPS SLP web page.

If you have questions on how to access Family Connection, please contact your child’s counselor for assistance.
