Principals Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The school year is winding to a close.  SOLs are done (except for a few make-ups and retakes) and we are looking forward to class picnics and concerts to celebrate the end of the school year.  I know you will join me in helping to keep our students focused on learning during these last few weeks of school.

This is also a good time to recognize our wonderful teachers and staff for everything they have done to make this a successful year for our students.  In particular, I would like to congratulate the following staff members who won the following awards.

Outstanding Teacher: Gretchen Harris

Outstanding LeaderChristy Ryder

Outstanding Support Staff: Ellen Toole

Outstanding New TeacherAdi Focke

Other staff members nominated were Juli Aharam, Caitlin Barnes, Julia Bradt, Hannah Del Signore, Eileen Glass, Kevin McGorty, Kathy Rock, and Jen Spohn.

Adi Focke won for Region 5 and moves on to the County Awards Ceremony tonight at George Mason University.  Congratulations to all of our nominees and winners, and good luck to Ms. Focke!

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further support your child’s learning and experience at Oak Hill.  My door is always open!

Sincerely,

Holly DeVore, Principal
