Dear Parents and Guardians,
The school year is winding to a close. SOLs are done (except
for a few make-ups and retakes) and we are looking forward to class picnics and
concerts to celebrate the end of the school year. I know you will join me
in helping to keep our students focused on learning during these last few weeks
of school.
This is also a good time to recognize our wonderful teachers and
staff for everything they have done to make this a successful year for our students. In particular, I would like to congratulate the following staff

Adi Focke won for Region 5 and moves on to the County Awards Ceremony tonight at George Mason University. Congratulations to all of our nominees and winners, and good luck to Ms. Focke!

Come out and celebrate the end of the year at the Oak Hill Spring Carnival. All Oak Hill Families are welcome, including new 2018-2019 Kindergarteners. The Carnival is this Friday from 5:30pm - 8:00pm.
There will be games, treats, and prizes and we’re inviting
you!

Sixth graders that pre-ordered a yearbook will receive their
books this Friday, June 8. All other pre-orders will be delivered on Monday, June
11. If you did not pre-order a yearbook and would like purchase one, there are
a limited number available and the cost is $20. Checks can be made out to Oak
Hill Elementary. Yearbooks will be sold to sixth graders only on June 11, and
will be available to everyone else on a first come, first served basis starting
June 12. Please contact Mrs. O’Malley with any questions at jmomalley@fcps.edu.
School Supply information for 2018-2019 school year is coming home in
Wednesday folders today. As in previous years, you may order your
supplies from Schoolkidz. Order at www.shopttkits.com (school code is
40229). Order deadline for online orders is June 22nd! Supply lists have also been updated on the Oak Hill website if
you choose to purchase supplies on your own.
The school
health room would like to remind parents and guardians that all medication
that is stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the
student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in
the health room after 1:30pm on June 15th will be discarded.
It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or
guardian and they cannot be sent home with your child. Please see
the below list for the Health Room Hours. If you have any questions

Oak Hill's Odyssey of the Mind Team.
More than 800 teams from around
the world competed at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals. The team from Oak Hill, which competed at the World Finals for the first time, finished in 11th place. There were 64 teams in their division from across the nation and other countries. As first timers at the World Finals they did
great! We are so proud of the girls!

Summer Reading
On Friday, June 8th Oak Hill students will enjoy
a presentation with librarians from the Chantilly Branch of FCPL. During this presentation the librarians will
tell your child about their Summer Reading Adventure, Reading Takes You Everywhere! program. They will also highlight fun
& engaging reading suggestions for each grade level. Click here
