Engaging activities at Oak Hill's STEAM Night.
Come out and support our school by running the annual Oak Hill
1K or 5K this Saturday, May 5, 2018! Check out the online registration website here for more information,
including important dates and prices. If you’d like to volunteer in any way, please sign up here. This
is a great way for students to earn service hours!
The FCPSOn community meeting has been rescheduled for tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. at Chantilly High School. FCPSOn
provides a device for each student and allows students opportunities for deeper
understanding of content and skills outlined in the Portrait of a Graduate in
order to be successful in the workforce of the future. For more information and additional meeting
dates, please click here. To request an interpreter, click here.
Students in grades 3-6 will be taking the Virginia Standards of
Learning (SOL) Tests from May 7 to June 1. It will be very helpful if you can
avoid appointments and trips which may take your child out of school during
this time period. Make up testing will
occur throughout the window based on staff availability to administer
tests. Please click here to view the complete SOL Testing schedule.
Oak Hill's Odyssey of the Mind Team.
Oak Hill's Odyssey of the Mind
team won 1st place at the VA state
tournament and has advanced to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals,
which will be held at Iowa State University later this month.
Our team is the only one that will
be representing Oak Hill at the World level, where teams
from different countries will be competing. It's a team
of seven 5th grader girls and is coached by Ginger Hawkins, an Oak Hill parent. Congratulations to the team and best of luck at the World Finals!
We need your help in letting
us know if your child will be returning to Oak Hill next year. This will
help us in projecting our total enrollment for the next school year.
Student’s Intention for the Next School Year forms were sent home on April 11,
2018. If you have already completed this form, thank you. If
you have not, please complete the form (directions are on the back of the form)
and return it to your child’s teacher by this Friday, May 4. If you need a new
form, please contact your child's teacher.
May is Children's Mental Health Awareness Month. Please consider joining the Parent Resource Center for a workshop as they highlight the importance of children's mental health. Click here for more information and to register.
