Mrs. Choate's Chat...
Dear Families,
We are fortunate at GFES to have so
many extra opportunities for instructional enrichment and family
partnering. Last night we had our annual
Family Science Night. We had an incredible turn out! Each station related to a science field
and our teachers did a great job facilitating the experiments with our
community. I hope you enjoyed the evening as much as the
GFES staff did. Check out the photos
below!
Mark your calendar now – the annual
Bingo Night will be held on Friday, March 16 at 6:30 pm. This is a fun-filled evening for the entire
family. The prizes are great and you
won’t want to miss this event!
This coming Monday, February 19, is
Presidents’ Day. Presidents’ Day is an
American holiday celebrated on the 3rd Monday of February to honor
George Washington, the 1st President of the United States and all
that have served. George Washington was
born on February 22, 1732. Check out the
fun word search below.
Please keep in mind the importance
of attendance for your children. This is
especially true as we move into the SOL test period for grades 3, 4 and 5. There are ways you can help your student
prepare by making sure they get a good night’s rest and have a healthy breakfast
every day. In addition, regular
attendance also enhances your child’s ability to learn and retain
information thus allowing learned them to perform at their highest level. And finally, your attitude as parents toward
school and SOL testing is a key factor.
Please relay to your children the importance of school and how a good
education opens many doors for their future.
Thank you for supporting your
child’s teacher and for partnering with GFES.
I believe all of us together can have a significant and beneficial
impact on our students’ academic achievement
Sincerely,
Cynthia Choate
Principal
