Milk and Cookies – Next Week, Wednesday, February 14th

Needed: More than 200 dozen cookies. Please sign up to bake: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f084aa8a629a20-valentines

On Wednesday, February 14th, we will be celebrating our Woodson students with milk and cookies. For those of you new to the school, this is a great tradition. It is a unique way for parents and community members to recognize our students and to show them positive community support. Traditionally, milk and cookies are mentioned in "All I Really Need to Know, I Learned in Kindergarten" as a valuable life lesson. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you! At this event, parent volunteers make hundreds of dozens of cookies and the PTSO donates milk boxes. After school on February 14th, parent volunteers shower the kids with warmth and pass out baggies of cookies and milk to each student at Woodson! In order for this to be successful, we need LOTS of help. Please visit the sign-up genius to donate cookies and/or help distribute on February 14th: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f084aa8a629a20-valentines

It's a great way to see smiling students:) Any questions, please email Shannon Murphy at shannon.murphy29@gmail.com.

Service Glasses for All

On February 1st, the PTSO partnered with Woodson Student Services to broadcast a short video about being kind and empathetic. The "Service Glasses" video highlights one of Cav Culture's core values--being empathetic--and reminded students to view the world through a different lens. Empathy creates a more accepting and respectful school community. Ask your student about the sunglasses they received. Thank you for your support in creating a positive community at Woodson. You may preview the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYRGqYZ_Bag; note that the video shown at WTW was a secular version with closed-captioning for the hearing impaired.
