February 6 -- Lion's Roar

Be Kind to Our Neighbors

Arrival and dismissal are busy times as 850 lions are coming and going from London Towne.  There are walkers, bus riders and a busy Kiss & Ride.  Over 200 cars come through our K&R lane daily and on rainy days, even more.  That's a lot of cars in the neighborhood and on Billingsgate Lane. Due to the volume of cars, it can be difficult to find a parking spot or navigate the streets around the school.

Please model safe and respectful driving habits for our lions by parking only in designated parking spots and by abiding by traffic laws.  Our neighbors have been frustrated by drivers who park on corners, in fire lanes and park so that they block our neighbors' driveways.  Additionally our neighbors have reported cars going the wrong way on one-way streets and blocking intersections. The Fairfax County Police Department is aware of these concerns and will increase patrols around arrival and dismissal.

Also, we strongly encourage you to use sidewalks when walking students to the building instead of walking through parking lots.  Thank you for modeling safe behavior for our lions.
