Fourth, fifth, and sixth graders at Dogwood were inspired to read, write, and persist through challenges during a visit with Newbery Award winning author, Kwame Alexander.
On Wednesday January 24th our 5th and 6th grade band students will perform in our Winter Concert.
Musicians should report to school at 6:30 to allow time for the band to warm-up. Concert attire for musicians is their white Dogwood Music shirt and black pants or skirts.
Our students have worked hard and are excited to perform for you. We hope that you will join us for this evening of music.

We want to be diligent so to minimize the
spread of illnesses here at school so our Public Health Nurse, Hope Luong and
the Fairfax County Health Department recommend the following for practice
within the school and for families to practice at home:
1. Enhanced cleaning of high touch areas such as door knobs.
2. Reinforcing good hand hygiene with 20 seconds of lathering before
rinsing.
3. Cough and sneeze etiquette, which
means coughing/sneezing into a tissue or into the elbow.
4. Staying home when ill. Be sure your child is 24 hours symptom free
before returning to school.
5. It is not too late to get the flu vaccine.
