Dear Stenwood Families:

We need your help, please.  Your child took the Student - Parent Survey form home today that needs to be completed by you and returned by this Friday, November 3rd.  We need a form returned from every child—100% participation, please.  Thank you for helping by completing this survey by the due date.

You’ve seen the popular My Principal Loves Me t-shirts that our staff has been wearing this year—here’s your chance to purchase one for your children or yourself.  Yes, Mrs. Riley and I love you, too!  So many students and parents have commented on how much they like the shirt, so we are making both the short sleeve version and a long sleeve option available to you.  This is not a fundraiser, and you will need to order online using the link below.  Please note that no returns or exchanges will be accepted; all sales are final.  Be sure to place your order by November 17th.  The company plans to deliver the shirts to Stenwood by December 4th, and we will send them home with your child that same week…just in time for the holidays!

Please note the information below highlighting the importance of regular school attendance.  Thank you, and I hope you have something fun planned for the upcoming weekend and two subsequent days off of school!

Attendance Calendar
  • Regular school attendance in elementary school improves the chances that your child will read on grade level.
  • Chronic absenteeism (missing 18 or more school days per year) is a primary cause of lower academic achievement even when the absences are "excused" or understandable.
  • Students who attend 90% or more of the school year are more likely to graduate from high school on time.
  • Absences can be a sign that a student is losing interest in school, struggling with school work, dealing with peer conflicts or facing some other potentially serious difficulty, and help is available.

Sincerely,
Principal Dammeyer
Assistant Principal Riley
