Reminder
October 9th, Monday is a Student Holiday. Columbus Day

Dear Stenwood Students and Parents,

Mark your calendars for our October 17th PTA meeting from 7:00pm-8:00pm.  We will have a guest speaker from FCPS, Alicia Clarke, from the Office of Student Safety and Wellness.  She will share information about internet safety, and she will present to our fifth and sixth graders the next day, October 18th.  Come learn how you can help keep your children safe.

For the seventh consecutive year, students in Fairfax County Public Schools will join together to participate in International Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 4th.  The day is celebrated as a way to promote physical activity while reducing traffic congestion and pollution near schools.  All students are encouraged to walk or bike to school where safe to do so or walk to their bus stops on October 4th.  Parents are encouraged to accompany their children to school and participate with them.

Please remember to donate to Help the Hive.  This money funds all of the fun PTA events and also helps to support our school in many ways.  Our current participation rate is 40%--let’s reach 100% so that all students who benefit from the giving (for example, Ice Cream Social, Dreambox, etc.) have also contributed.  No amount is too small and is truly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Principal Dammeyer
Assistant Principal Riley
