Gator Bytes: Weekly News and General Information for Kings Glen


Advanced Academics Information Session

Wednesday, September 20, 2017 9:00 a.m. 

Parents are invited to come and learn about Advanced Academics at Kings Glen Elementary. Mrs. Agner will cover the continuum of services in Fairfax County and what the implementation looks like at Kings Glen. She will also discuss important dates for parents who are interested in full time advanced academics (level 4 services that are provided at Keene Mill)

Attention 4th, 5th and 6th Grade!

ALL 4th, 5th and 6th grade will be playing recorder in general music class this year, even if you are participating in band or strings. If you already own a recorder, please bring it to school by Monday, September 18th and they will be stored in the music room. If you need to purchase a recorder, please have your student pick up a form from the music teacher. Questions?

Band and Strings Enrollment

Forms were due to the school by Friday, Sept. 8th. If you have misplaced your form and would like to enroll, please have your student pick up a form from the front office.


The Kings Glen Chorus

The Kings Glen Chorus meets once per week during regular school hours.

5th Grade- Beginning on September 12th, rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays from 9:00-9:45. 

6th Grade- Beginning on September 13th, rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:15.

Do you have a favorite computer game? Would you like to learn how to make your own computer games? At Code Club, you can learn how to make cool games, animations, and websites too!

Silver Knights Chess Club

Club meets every Thursday in the cafeteria Oct. 5-Nov. 30 (club does not meet Nov. 23); Time: 3:30 pm-4:30  • Tuition $112 for 8 weeks


Stem Excel Robotics

Fridays 3:30-4:30 pm • Sept. 29-Dec. 1 in the Cafeteria (no class on Nov. 3, Nov. 24)

Tuition: $160 • 8 meetings, 1 hour per meeting


RunFit Kidz

Thursdays starting Sept. 28 3:30-4:45 pm 

Tuition $95 for 8 week program
