Scott Brabrand

FCPS Welcomes Dr. Scott Brabrand as New Superintendent

On July 10, Dr. Scott Brabrand began his tenure as Superintendent for Fairfax County Public Schools. He returns to FCPS after five years as Superintendent of Lynchburg City Schools, where he oversaw increases in the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) pass rates in math and reading and in the graduation rate, particularly for economically disadvantaged students and for Black students. This year, he was named Region V Superintendent of the Year by the Virginia Association of School Superintendents.

Nominate a Business or Community Partner of the Year!

Is your school or program working with an dedicated business or community partner? Much of what happens at FCPS cannot be accomplished without the support of local companies and non-profit organizations.

The Foundation is soliciting nominations for Business (for-profit) and Community (non-profit) Partners of the Year. These awards will be handed out at the Superintendent's Luncheon on November 20 in front of 350 business and community leaders. Nominations will be open throughout the summer.

Donate to our "Kids in Need" Fund to Purchase School Supplies for Students.

Now that summer is here, #CollectforKids is in full swing.

Over 50,000 students in FCPS live below the poverty line. Collect for Kids activates community groups across the county to collect backpacks, school supplies, calculators and more during the summer months. FCPS distributes the supplies prior to the start of school.

Your cash contribution to the Foundation's Kids in Need Fund enables us to supplement this community effort and fill the gaps with school supply kits, backpacks, and other items.

Let's work together to make sure all students have what they need to be successful in school
